FAQ

Can therapy help me?

Therapy provides support, validation, coping strategies, and peace of mind. It offers a safe, nonjudgmental space to express yourself authentically and feel deeply understood, fostering a powerful, transformative connection. My approach is relationally focused and rooted in genuine compassion.

While therapy can help you navigate challenges, it does not change external circumstances or others’ behavior. I provide guidance and insights but refrain from offering direct advice – your decisions remain yours. For those new to therapy or addressing unresolved trauma, the process may feel uncomfortable at first but leads to growth over time.

Can you tell me more about the free 15-minute consultation call?
Our initial 15-minute call lets you share your situation, ask about my approach, and get a sense of what it will be like to work with me. By the end of the call, you should feel more informed about whether we are a good fit. If I think your needs would be better served elsewhere, I’ll gladly provide a referral to another professional.
How much is it to work with you?
Each session is $200, regardless of the type (pastoral or therapy) or number of participants. I do not accept insurance or Medicare, but I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. Please check with your insurer for details.

Payments can be made via check, cash, or credit card using Ivy Pay, a HIPAA-compliant service. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy; cancellations within 24 hours will incur the full session fee. I will try rescheduling your appointment for the same week to help avoid this charge. Additional fees apply for phone consultations, emails, or letters – please get in touch with me for rates.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for me?

Building a strong connection with your therapist relies on chemistry and openness. If something I say does not resonate or your expectations aren’t met, please share, and we’ll work together.

To help you decide if we are a good fit, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to connect, discuss your needs, and answer any questions before scheduling your first session.

What is one small step I can take to feel less overwhelmed?
You’re not alone because feeling overwhelmed is more common than you might think. A simple but powerful first step is to pause and take a few slow, deep breaths. This helps calm your heart rate and clears your mind, making tackling what’s in front of you easier. Even small steps like this can make a difference.
Do you have a favorite Mantra or Affirmation?
My daily mantra is “Breathe in Grace; Breathe out Gratitude.” It helps ground me and reminds me to approach life with compassion and appreciation. I believe in practicing what I teach, which allows me to show up authentically and compassionately for my clients.
What’s your favorite part about helping people like me?
I genuinely believe it’s a privilege to support those who are hurting. It takes incredible trust and courage to step into a therapist’s office and begin the deep work of healing. I deeply cherish being part of that journey and witnessing my clients’ growth and resilience.
What’s one thing you would tell someone nervous about reaching out to start working with you?
Feeling nervous about reaching out is entirely normal. Sharing the complex parts of your life with someone new can feel vulnerable, but that nervousness usually fades as we talk. Most clients leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and more at ease.
I feel like I have no time. Can you help me?
I understand that time can feel limited. Think about therapy as an investment in your life, well-being, and relationships. Taking that first step, even with a bit of courage, can lead to positive changes you might not yet imagine. The benefits of therapy are worth the time you commit to it.
What should I expect from my first session?
Whether our session is through telehealth or in person, I hope you experience a safe place to come, share what has brought you into therapy, and leave with some hope that you are not alone walking through this healing journey. We will spend most of our first session understanding what brought you in and what it will look like for you to achieve your goals.
How long do I need to be in therapy?
The duration of therapy varies. A typical client will see me for around 20-25 sessions. We usually start meeting weekly and then meet less often as the goals are being met. The more effort and commitment you bring, the greater the potential benefits.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is confidential. What you share with me stays between us, with a few exceptions, such as if there’s a risk of harm to you or someone else. If you have any concerns or questions about confidentiality, I’d be happy to discuss them further during a free 15-minute consultation call.
How often will we meet?
Typically, I see clients once a week at the start of their therapy. As they start seeing their goals achieved, we meet less frequently. We’ll conclude our work together once we agree that the objectives have been met.
Do we meet online or in person?
I can meet in person with those in the Los Angeles area. I have a physical location/office in Burbank, CA. For all my other clients, I meet online via Zoom.
What if I don’t know how to explain what I’m feeling?

That’s completely okay. Many people come to therapy to better understand and express their feelings. Together, we’ll work through what you’re experiencing and find the words that make sense to you. This is part of the collaborative work we do together.
