About Kim Dodd

Kim Dodd, MA, LMFT

I am a mom, wife, writer, therapist, pastor, and lover of all things learning. I have 2 young adults, one left in high school and have been married for almost 30 years. My youngest has a rare genetic anomaly that we discovered at the age of 2. He effectively redefined parenting and family life for me.

I believe our relationships are the most fundamental and impactful part of who we are today. Whether someone comes into therapy for themselves, their family or their marriage, the impact of past and current relationships impact our sessions together.

I have been a licensed therapist in the State of Indiana for more than a decade. In California I am both a licensed/ordained minister and a licensed therapist.

My Approach

I am relational and believe in the healing power of connection with others. For those whose faith is a strong value, I merge theology with psychology. The goal is to authentically and compassionately work through the deep rooted issues of trauma, triggers, grief, addictions, and emotional struggles that can cause one to be stuck, and unable to move forward. Transformation is a lifelong journey, and it’s comforting to know, you don’t have to journey alone. While I am happy to pull up my boots and stand in the quicksand of healing with you, I also value and believe growth is in your hands.
